Editorial Policy
At Security Hero, our editorial policy is centered around providing accurate and useful information to our readers. Identity theft is a topic that we take very seriously, and we hold ourselves and every one of our writers to extremely high ethical standards.
By working for or with Security Hero, you are expected to abide by the principles outlined in the following editorial policy:
Accuracy and Objectivity
Our top priority is to provide accurate and objective information related to identity theft prevention to our readers. We aren’t perfect and we do make mistakes, but we use our rigorous testing and fact-checking processes to catch errors in real-time and promptly make corrections.
Transparency
Transparency is important to us, as we believe that the best way to counter fraud is to expose it. Sunshine is the best disinfectant. We are a proud affiliate for several companies and you should assume that we have a business relationship with the companies reviewed on our website.
You should also assume that these companies have in no way directly influenced our coverage of them. We don’t participate in “pay to play” schemes, unlabeled sponsored posts, or other forms of deceptive marketing.
Our Editorial and Commercial departments are separate and neither one influences the other.
Ethics
We expect that every one of our writers – even those on a short-term contract – must uphold high ethical standards. This means that they must have firsthand experience with any products reviewed, and are forbidden from plagiarizing content.
We do allow the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Chat GPT to be used by writers for brainstorming purposes, but every article we publish is checked by multiple reviewers, both human and machine, to ensure that it is factually accurate, unique, and human-generated.
Editorial Independence
We do not allow advertisers or sponsors to influence our editorial decisions or the content we produce. We believe in maintaining our editorial independence, and we will not compromise on this principle.
We may choose to accept Sponsored Posts or Advertisements, but these will be clearly labeled as such. We do not allow for “native advertising”.
Reader Feedback
We welcome all reader and YouTube viewer feedback and believe that it is essential for us to continue to improve our product. We encourage readers to share their thoughts, comments, and concerns with us here, and we will do our best to address them promptly.
